Shelley Jackson's research currently focuses on using expressive arts therapy in counselor supervision. She has published in the areas of school counseling, multicultural counseling, and expressive arts.

 


Biography

Jackson is a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Registered Play Therapist Supervisor. She is originally from Vermont and went to the University of Vermont, where she received a BA in Psychology. Jackson then went to Lesley Graduate School in Cambridge and received a Masters in Counseling Psychology. After that, she worked as a school counselor in Florida and then in Georgia. In Georgia, while working as a school counselor, she attended Georgia State University and received her Ph.D. in Counselor Education in 1997. She has worked for several years as a Counselor in Education.

Jackson enjoys teaching and supervising students who will positively impact the lives of children and families. Her research currently focuses on using expressive arts therapy in counselor supervision. She has published in school counseling, multicultural counseling, and expressive arts. She was a visiting faculty member at Bennington for Spring 2023.
