OPEN TO THE PUBLIC | Lisa Olstein is the author of six books of poems published by Copper Canyon Press, most recently Distinguished Office of Echoes, a collection of three collage-, cutout, and erasure-based sequences, each of which uses an antique reference book as its source text. Prior collections include Dream Apartment and Late Empire. Her nonfiction includes Pain Studies (Bellevue Literary Press, 2020), a book-length lyric essay on the intersection of pain, perception, and language; and Climate (Essay Press, 2022), an exchange of co-written epistolary letter essays. Her honors include a Guggenheim Fellowship, a Pushcart Prize, and a Lannan Writing Residency. She is the Ellen Clayton Garwood Centennial Professor of Creative Writing at the University of Texas at Austin.
