OPEN TO THE PUBLIC | Researchers in data science, physics, chemistry, and many other domains are leveraging distributed compute resources for modeling and analysis. Consequentially their labs have struggled with the additional cost of managing these resources and ensuring data integrity in transport. A new open source platform called Covalent aims to solve this problem by automating workflow management through a simple SDK and a central UI. This talk will provide an introduction to Covalent and a demo of using the tool to run and visualize a workflow.

Scott is an experienced technical leader who has solved problems for global multinationals, early stage startups, and organizations of all sizes. At IBM he was part of a small group of cloud engineers who rebuilt IBM Cloud Customer Success from the inside out by rapidly delivering novel cloud solutions to IBM's strategic clients. After leaving IBM to join a startup, he managed the core engineering team that build Covalent. He is a Qiksit Advocate and an active member of the quantum computing open source community.
