OPEN TO THE PUBLIC | The Albany Pine Bush is one of the largest inland pine barrens in the world. Pine barrens are fire-adapted ecosystems and are home to rare and endangered species. The Albany Pine Bush is located the Capital Region of New York between the Cities of Albany and Schenectady. Tyler will talk about the fire management at the preserve, why and how the burns are implemented, and how to get certified as a wildland firefighter.

Tyler Briggs is the Fire Manager at the Albany Pine Bush Preserve. He oversees all aspects of the Fire Program at the Preserve. He is a NWCG Burn Boss Type 2, Engine Boss, Firing Boss, Crew Boss, Incident Commander Type 4.
