OPEN TO THE PUBLIC AND LIVE STREAMING | Alumni fellows Evan Brooke MFA '20, Emily Mohn-Slate MFA '14, and Elisa Wouk Almino MFA '25 will read from their recent books as part of the Writers Reading series.
Evan Brooke MFA ’20, Alumni Fellow (Fiction): Evan Brooke’s debut novel will be published by Atria Books/Simon & Schuster in the Fall of 2026. Her work has appeared or is forthcoming in The Threepenny Review, Passages North, The Baltimore Review, Cutleaf, The Northwest Review, and The Chicago Quarterly Review. A former high school English teacher, she lives outside of Philadelphia with her family.
Emily Mohn-Slate MFA ’14, Alumni Fellow (Poetry): Emily Mohn-Slate is the author of The Falls, winner of the 2019 New American Poetry Prize (New American Press), and Feed, winner of the 2018 Keystone Chapbook Prize (Seven Kitchens Press). Her poems and essays can be found in AGNI, The Adroit Journal, New Ohio Review, Poet Lore, Tupelo Quarterly, and elsewhere. She teaches for the Madwomen in the Attic Workshops, writes the Be Where You Are newsletter, and co-hosts the Ass in Chair Collective.
Elisa Wouk Almino MFA ’25, Alumni Fellow (Nonfiction): Elisa Wouk Almino is an art writer, essayist, and translator. She’s published in the Paris Review, NYRB, Literary Hub, and the Los Angeles Times, where she is editor-in-chief of Image, the style magazine. She translated This House by Ana Martins Marques and edited two Rizzoli monographs, on artists Emily Mason and Alice Trumbull Mason. She was awarded a Gulf Coast Prize in Translation and residencies at Art Omi, Tin House, and the Jan Michalski Foundation.
