OPEN TO THE PUBLIC AND LIVE STREAMING | Katy Simpson Smith, Craig Morgan Teicher, and De’Shawn Charles Winslow will read from their recent books as part of the Writers Reading series.

Katy Simpson Smith was born and raised in Jackson, Mississippi. She is the author of We Have Raised All of You: Motherhood in the South, 1750-1835, and the novels The Story of Land and Sea, Free Men, and The Everlasting, a New York Times Best Historical Fiction Book of 2020. She received a PhD in history from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and an MFA from the Bennington Writing Seminars. She lives in New Orleans. 

Craig Morgan Teicher is the author of several books, most recently August September October and Welcome to Sonnetville, New Jersey. He is also the author of the essay collection We Begin in Gladness: How Poets Progress. He recently edited Little Mr. Prose Poem: The Selected Poems of Russell Edson and was a 2021 Guggenheim fellow. His next collection, August September October, will be published in Spring 2026.

De’Shawn Charles Winslow is the author of Decent People, and In West Mills, which was a Center for Fiction First Novel Prize winner. His third novel will be published in 2026.
