OPEN TO THE PUBLIC | Join poet Shane McCrae as he hosts a master class on putting a first book together.

Shane McCrae is the author of seven books of poetry, most recently Sometimes I Never Suffered (FSG, 2020); The Gilded Auction Block (FSG, 2019), a New York Times New & Noteworthy selection; and In the Language of My Captor (Wesleyan, 2017), winner of the Anisfield-Wolf Book Award and a finalist for the National Book Award, the LA Times Book Award, and the Poetry Society of America’s William Carlos Williams Award. His work has appeared in The American Poetry Review, The New Yorker, The New York Times, Poetry, and the Best American Poetry series. The recipient of a Guggenheim Fellowship, a Lannan Literary Award, an NEA Fellowship, a Pushcart Prize, and a Whiting Writers’ Award, he is an assistant professor at Columbia University.
