Electroacoustic Band Workshop Showcase

OPEN TO THE PUBLIC | Students of Senem Pirler’s Electroacoustic Band Workshop will share their final project: an auditory exquisite corpse. Exquisite Corpse is a collaborative drawing approach first used by surrealist artists in which players draw on a sheet of paper then fold it to conceal what they have written before passing it on to the next player who will do the same. For their final project, students worked as a duo - and in one case a trio - to compose an auditory exquisite corpse improvisation. For these pieces, each student only shared the last 10 seconds of their improvisation with one another before passing it on to then be completed by their partner(s). This process continued as a six minute improvisation. These pieces will be shared via a SoundCloud link on Thursday at 11am.
