OPEN TO THE PUBLIC | Glen Van Brummelen PhD, mathematics faculty member at Quest University will be discussing the topic "From the Heavens to the Earth: The Mercurial Tale of Spherical Trigonometry." Glen has taught mathematics at small liberal arts colleges his entire career and is the recipient of the Haimo award, the top teaching award for undergraduate math in North America. A historian of mathematics, he is especially interested in trigonometry and astronomy in ancient Greece and medieval Islam.
