"The Lonely Planet Dance"
OPEN TO THE PUBLIC | Anastasia Proshutinskaya (guest curator, researcher) will present a lecture-demonstration surveying contemporary dance today; she will discuss local specificity in dance, global dance circulation, shared concerns and ways to archive meaningful dialogue across boarders.
Anastasia Proshutinskaya acquired her MA in Art Theory and History from Moscow State University and MA in Performance Studies from The Southern Illinois University. From 2012 to 2018, she curated contemporary dance in ZIL Culture Centre, Moscow. with focus on stage productions by emerging dance artists, residencies and international networking. In 2019, she was a jury member for [8:tension] Young Choreographers' Series award at ImPulsTanz, Vienna. Her current interest is related to questions regarding local and global trends in contemporary dance practices, curatorial methodologies around dialogues, and various types of community constructions in shaky times.
