OPEN TO THE PUBLIC | Join Jad Abumrad, Dick Nodell, and Mariko Silver for an exploration of how to listen, find true stories, and create productive spaces for challenging and emotionally fraught conversations, particularly on controversial issues in contentious times.

Jad will share his experiences as the creator and host of Radiolab and More Perfect, in which he often must illuminate complex situations. Richard Nodell will share his experiences working with clients where holding the intersubjective space is essential for meaningful change to occur.

Jad Abumrad is the host and creator of More Perfect and Radiolab, which reach roughly 9 million people per month. He's been called a "master of the radio craft" for his unique ability to combine cutting edge sound-design, cinematic storytelling, and a personal approach to explaining complex topics from the stochasticity of tumor cells to the mathematics of morality. Jad studied creative writing and music composition at Oberlin College. He composes much of the music for Radiolab and in the past has composed music for film, theater, and dance. Radiolab has received multiple Peabody Awards (2011 & 2015), the highest honor in broadcasting. In 2011, Jad received the prestigious MacArthur "Genius" Fellowship.

Richard Nodell specializes in working with leaders of complex organizations. He has served as a psychotherapist in clinical practice in New York City. Previously, Richard founded and led a company that worked in the for-profit sector, primarily in the tech and financial industries. His work later shifted towards mission-driven organizations, and over the last 25 years, he has worked with leaders in higher education, public media, and research science. Richard’s unique multi-dimensional approach to leadership includes understanding organizations as non-linear dynamic systems, effective relational practices, and design thinking. Believing that no one theory or template will apply, he helps leaders and individuals develop their own distinctive modes of leading themselves and others.

Jad and Richard have worked in partnership for the past 12 years.
