OPEN TO THE PUBLIC | Join us for this socially distant outdoor mending workshop on the grounds of the Robert Frost Stone House Museum that will cover the materials, concepts, and techniques needed to repair common wear and tear in your garments using visible mending. Come learn to extend the life of your clothing, strengthen and make more sustainable your closet, and add marks of hand-making to your wardrobe. We will focus primarily on mending denim and workwear, as well as holes in linen, cotton, and wool. Materials including sashiko thread and needles, practice swatches, and patches will be provided, just bring a pair of jeans or other item you’d like to begin mending. Masks will be required. Email frosthouse@bennington.edu to register.
