POSTPONED | Paisley Rekdal is the author of six books of poetry, most recently Nightingale (Copper Canyon, 2019), which rewrites many of the myths in Ovid’s Metamorphoses and was called a Best Book of 2019 by NPR and The Washington Post; Imaginary Vessels, finalist for the 2018 Kingsley Tufts Prize and the Washington State Book Award; and Animal Eye, a finalist for the 2013 Kingsley Tufts Award. She is also the author of three books of nonfiction: her newest is a book-length essay, The Broken Country: On Trauma, a Crime, and the Continuing Legacy of Vietnam. Appropriate: A Provocation, a book-length essay examining cultural appropriation, is forthcoming from W.W. Norton. She is the guest editor for Best American Poetry 2020, teaches at the University of Utah, and is presently Utah’s State Poet Laureate.
