Socially Responsible Investing

The Investment Committee of the Bennington Board of Trustees oversees the funds invested in the College’s endowment with the help of an outside firm, Glenmede. The Committee has continued to pursue the topic of Socially Responsible Investing (SRI)—the concept of aligning your investments with your values—in its investment practices. In 2016, sessions were held by Glenmede to provide information on the various forms of socially responsible investing and to gather input on what practices the College should adopt. As a result of these sessions, the College adopted the incorporation of environmental, societal and governance factors (ESG) into the investment decision process. The College will be revisiting its decision and is seeking to provide updated information on SRI as well as educate and receive input from the entire College community on this important subject. The sessions will be facilitated by representatives from Glenmede.

There will be three sessions held via Zoom at 10:00 am, 12:30 pm, and 4:00 pm. Glenmede will provide information on the topic at the beginning of each session, then open the floor for discussion and comments.
