MASS MoCA and the Williams College Museum of Art have joined the Clark Art Institute, Bennington Museum, and the Williamstown Theatre Festival to launch “Art Country,” which will include two concurrent Frankenthaler shows at the Clark.

The exhibition “As in Nature” will offer a look at Frankenthaler’s paintings across 40 years, while “No Rules” will focus on her woodcuts. Both exhibitions open July 1; several of her pieces will appear in the central summer exhibit at the Bennington Museum as well.

A pivotal figure in the College’s history, Frankenthaler ’49 is of one of the most influential and defining artists of the last 50 years.
