Introducing the Bennington Staff Council

A letter to the Bennington Community from the Bennington Staff Council

The Bennington College Staff Council is working to integrate staff voices in decision-making at Bennington. This council was formed in mid-May of 2022 as a result of the College-wide Shared Governance Task Force, promoting respect and partnership among the entire campus community. Through solidifying an avenue of communication and organization of the intersectional staff community at Bennington College, we are striving to ensure the staff perspective and experience are represented in the important discussions of issues, particularly those that have a direct impact on staff working conditions, morale, overall health, and well-being.

The Bennington College Staff Council, consisting of our active members, overlapped with subcommittee members, and BOT Committee Representatives, meets monthly, on the third Thursday of each month at 2pm EST via Zoom to accommodate in-person, remote, and hybrid staff members.

In hopes of being easily accessible and enforcing a direct line of communication to us for the entirety of the staff body, we can all be contacted via email. We hold an open invite to our meetings to any and all staff members of the Bennington College community. To access the Zoom link and invite, please contact us to be added to the curated and growing monthly agenda. We encourage any and all staff involvement, feedback, and participation. To share ideas, concerns, happenings, and suggestions, please feel free to connect with one of our staff council members via our email.

If you are interested in joining the Staff Council, we would love to have you! Please fill out the membership form.

It is our utmost goal and drive to maximize the staff voice within our college community and serve as a liaison of information, strategy, and support for the staff body to the extended campus communities. We are excited to formally introduce ourselves and look forward to working within our community!
