Paisley Rekdal Addresses Graduates of the Bennington Writing Seminars Class of January 2020

Paisley Rekdal is the author of four books of nonfiction, and six books of poetry, including Nightingale and Appropriate: A Provocation.

What keeps a writer going is something outside of talent. It's something people either innately possess in spades, or, with care and vigilance, they learn to nurture.

Rekdal's work has received the Amy Lowell Poetry Traveling Fellowship, a Guggenheim Fellowship, an NEA Fellowship, Pushcart Prizes, a Fulbright Fellowship, and various state arts council awards. She teaches at the University of Utah and is Utah’s Poet Laureate.
