Shah's Garam Garam Pops Up at Pangaea

Mariam Shah ’14, who runs garam garam, a growing food venture devoted to Pakistani cuisine, hosted a February pop up at Pangaea in Bennington.

Shah has been cooking and selling food in Bennington since 2015. She has hosted four pop- ups in Bennington, three in Brooklyn, and one in Hoosick Falls, NY.

Following her graduation from Bennington College, she began selling food at the Bennington Farmers' Market and catering small events. Her first pop up in Bennington was held at Pangaea in 2016, to which she returned this February. She later hosted pop ups at Harvest Brewing Company and Bennington's Green Table Co-op.

In 2019, garam garam will be providing food at the Vermont Art Exchange's Basement Music Series at the Masonic Hall.

It's a pop up. It's a meal with friends at Mariam's table. But more than that: it is a huge part of our community.
