Sofia Alvarez '07 Writes and Directs New Netflix Film
Sofia Alvarez '07 wrote the screenplay and directed "Along for the Ride" for Netflix, which premiered on the platform on May 6, 2022.
The film is an adaptation of the novel of the same name by Sarah Dessen. The film's official logline reads: "The summer before college Auden meets the mysterious Eli, a fellow insomniac. While the seaside town of Colby sleeps, the two embark on a nightly quest to help Auden experience the fun, carefree teen life she never knew she wanted."
While Along for the Ride is Alvarez's directorial debut, she previously wrote the film adaptions for Jenny Han’s bestselling novels To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before and To All the Boys 2: P.S. I Still Love You, both for Netflix.
