Explorations in Creative Data Visualization

OPEN TO THE PUBLIC | Bennington faculty member, Dr Kathryn Montovan will discuss how data visualization can be much more than bar charts and scatter plots. In this talk, we will explore the work of a variety of data scientists/artists and think about the benefits and drawbacks of each of the different approaches. Montovan will then share some of my own adventures (and misadventures) in data visualization. This talk may be of interest to students from a variety of fields including data science, science, statistics, social sciences, and art.
