Emmy nominated writer on Bridgerton, The Night Shift, and Bones, Janet Lin is currently developing three series for HBOMax.
Biography
Emmy-nominated writer Lin is currently developing two series for HBOMax – a DC Wonder Woman-related series, Paradise Lost, and a show set in the Game of Thrones universe, The Golden Empire of Yi Ti - as well as a genre procedural about a werewolf in a retirement home for FOX. She most recently staffed on two upcoming series for Amazon, 56 Days and Rise of the Empress. Her credits also include: Bridgerton, Cursed, The Orville, Forever, The Night Shift and Bones.
Lin has worked in countless writers’ rooms and developed projects across a wide range of genres: from a female-based horror anthology (HBOMax) to an epic time travel romance (Netflix) to a bighearted animated feature about a single mother and her son (Disney Animation).
Lin has a B.A. magna cum laude in American Studies from Amherst College and an MFA in Writing for Screen and Television from USC’s School of Cinematic Arts. She mentors new writers and helps them bridge the personal stories they wish to tell with the commercial realities of making television.
Lin joins Bennington as faculty in the MFA in Screenwriting Low-Residency Program for the 2026-2027 academic year.
