Cole Rikman '29 studies Music and Theater at Bennington. For his winter 2026 Field Work Term, Rikman is a studio intern at Electric Lady Studios in New York City.
How does your Field Work Term relate to your studies at Bennington?
It delves deeper into the engineering and production side of music creation.
What does a typical day at your Field Work Term site look like?
I get orders for clients, clean studios, test equipment, check lines, and then reset rooms for incoming clients.
What has surprised you most about your Field Work Term position?
This has been a very physically exhausting job. There is lots of traveling around the city to pick up or order things. I do lots of heavy equipment lifting.
What do you hope to do for your next Field Work Term?
Likely I'll want to try another studio experience, but I'm not certain yet.
