OPEN TO THE PUBLIC | It’s hard to be true to not only others, but to yourself, when you’ve got a lot going on upstairs. We all live in our heads from time to time, but when one deep-seated secret leads to strong animosity and a loss of control, living in your head seems to unravel everything.

The year is 1979. Della, her best friend Laurie, and Laurie’s younger sister Vera all reside in a small apartment that sits above a French restaurant in San Francisco, California. They all seem to be living the life and doing what they please before tensions slowly rise and chaos ensues. What starts as a peaceful evening turns into a day that the 3 roommates will never forget.

A Lot Going on Upstairs is about friendship, love, and the consequences of keeping secrets.

Written by and starring Megan Reid '26, with costars Naomi Schneider '26 and Caroline Duncan-Gilmour '27.
