Generative Workshop with Cameron Awkward-Rich

OPEN TO THE PUBLIC | Cameron Awkward-Rich is the author of An Optimism (Persea, 2025). He is also the author of two previous poetry collections: Dispatch (Persea, 2019), winner of the Lexi Rudnitsky Editor’s Choice Award; and Sympathetic Little Monster (Ricochet Editions, 2016), finalist for a Lambda Literary Award in Transgender Poetry. His book The Terrible We: Thinking with Trans Maladjustment (Duke University Press, 2022) received the Sylvia Rivera Award in Transgender Studies, the Alan Bray Memorial Book Award for best book in LGBTQ literature and cultural studies, and the Duke University Press Scholars of Color First Book Award. He is an Associate Professor in the Department of Women, Gender, Sexuality Studies at the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
