Kimberly VerstandigKimberly Verstandig serves as Interim Vice President for Institutional Advancement at Bennington College, where she leads the College’s fundraising, alumni engagement, advancement communications, and stewardship efforts during a pivotal period of institutional transition

Verstandig is a seasoned advancement and strategic leadership executive with more than 30 years of experience in higher education and nonprofit leadership. Recognized for her ability to align institutional vision with philanthropic strategy, she has built and led high-performing advancement programs focused on transformational giving, stakeholder engagement, and long-term institutional growth.

She has served as Vice President for Advancement at several institutions, including Connecticut College, Lafayette College, and Skidmore College. At Connecticut College, she led the successful completion of the College’s $300 million Defy Boundaries campaign, the largest fundraising campaign in the institution’s history. She has also held senior advancement leadership roles at Bucknell University, The Albany Academies, and Albany Medical Center, leading efforts in principal and major gifts, campaign strategy, alumni and parent engagement, board relations, and advancement operations.

Throughout her career, Verstandig has been recognized for helping institutions navigate periods of growth, transition, and transformation by translating institutional vision into clear strategic direction, meaningful action, and measurable results. She is known for building strong, collaborative relationships with donors, alumni, trustees, faculty, and institutional leaders that advance engagement, philanthropy, and long-term institutional success.

Verstandig received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and a Master of Science in Education from Bucknell University.
At Bennington, she works closely with College leadership, trustees, alumni, and the advancement team to strengthen philanthropic support, deepen alumni engagement, and advance institutional priorities connected to the College’s long-term sustainability and future success.
