Ariél M. Martinez is an MFA candidate at the Bennington Writing Seminars. Her work has been published or is forthcoming from The Rumpus and Peach Mag. She is working on a memoir.

Biography

Martinez is a queer femme writer from San Antonio, Texas. She is currently studying creative nonfiction as an MFA candidate at the Bennington Writing Seminars, and is expected to graduate in January 2022. She holds a BA from Bard College, where she majored in social sciences with a concentration in gender & sexuality studies. She attended the Tin House Winter Workshop in 2020 and her work has been published or is forthcoming from The Rumpus, Peach Mag and The Gordon Square Review. She is working on a memoir and lives on the East Coast with her chihuahua, Frida. Martinez was awarded a Residential Teaching Fellowship at Bennington for Fall 2021.
