Justin Vasselli’s work as a software engineer focuses on utilizing iOS technology to create efficient and enjoyable educational experiences for language learners.

Biography

Vasselli is a software engineer who has worked on and published numerous apps for iPhone and iPad. He is interested in how technology can be used to promote more efficient and enjoyable learning, both in and out of the classroom. Vasselli graduated with a bachelor’s of science degree with honors in Visual and Game Programming and went on to use his understanding of video game development to make several educational, interactive picture books and comic books for iPad. It was developing these immersive educational experiences that sparked his interest in educational technology. This, combined with a lifelong interest in language, led him to pursue a master’s degree in Computer Assisted Language Learning. He cofounded Serpenti Sei with his husband and they are working together to develop a suite of language apps aimed at beginner through near-native-level Japanese speakers. Vasselli was a recurring visiting faculty member at Bennington from Fall 2015-Spring 2021.
