Justin Vasselli’s work as a software engineer focuses on utilizing iOS technology to create efficient and enjoyable educational experiences for language learners.
Vasselli is a software engineer who has worked on and published numerous apps for iPhone and iPad. He is interested in how technology can be used to promote more efficient and enjoyable learning, both in and out of the classroom. Vasselli graduated with a bachelor’s of science degree with honors in Visual and Game Programming and went on to use his understanding of video game development to make several educational, interactive picture books and comic books for iPad. It was developing these immersive educational experiences that sparked his interest in educational technology. This, combined with a lifelong interest in language, led him to pursue a master’s degree in Computer Assisted Language Learning. He cofounded Serpenti Sei with his husband and they are working together to develop a suite of language apps aimed at beginner through near-native-level Japanese speakers. Vasselli was a visiting faculty member at Bennington for the academic years 2015-2016 and 2016-2017. He returns for the Spring 2019 term and the 2019-2020 academic year.
