Rachel Lyon
Rachel Lyon's novel Self-Portrait With Boy was a finalist for the Center for Fiction First Novel Prize. Her short work has recently appeared in One Story, the Rumpus, and elsewhere.
Biography
Lyon is the author of Self-Portrait With Boy, which was a finalist for the Center for Fiction's First Novel Prize and the International Dublin Literary Award, and Fruit of the Dead, which was a finalist for the Janet Heidinger Kafka Prize. Rachel's short work has appeared in One Story, The Rumpus, Longreads, Electric Literature, and elsewhere. She has taught at accredited and nonaccredited institutions including Sackett Street Writers Workshop, Catapult, and the American University of Paris, where she was the 2024 Paris Writer in Residence. Lyon was a Ben Belitt Visiting Faculty Fellow at Bennington for Spring 2022 and Spring 2023, and returns as visiting faculty for Spring 2026.
