The latest additions to Bennington’s rich literary history have hit bookstore shelves. Their authors join Bennington notables, including Donna Tartt '86, Kiran Desai '93, Michael Pollan '76, ​Ann Goldstein '71, Anaïs Duplan '14, Anne Waldman '66, Cynthia Sweeney MFA '13, Jamie Quatro MFA '09, Amy Gerstler '01, Morgan Jerkins MFA '16, and Charles Bock '97.

A show of new works by visual arts faculty member Mary Lum will open with a reception at Yancey Richardson Gallery on September 6. The exhibit, Small Structures—on view through October 20—includes a series of small-scale photographs and acrylic-based collage works on paper, hung end-to-end in a line throughout the gallery.

Bennington College announced today a new scholarship fund in honor of Faculty Emerita, Mary Lum. The Mary Lum Scholarship for Undergraduate Study will be awarded to incoming students matriculating in fall of 2023 with strong academic preparation and creative thinking within any discipline, and also demonstrate high financial need.

Visual arts faculty member Mary Lum has been commissioned to create a large-scale wall work for the bike tunnel that transverses the ground floor of MASS MoCA’s new Building 6, a three-story facility that will double the museum’s exhibition space, making it the largest museum of contemporary art in America.

Assembly (Lorem ipsum), a long term installation by visual arts faculty Mary Lum, will be on view at Mass MoCA this coming May as part of the official opening of Building 6, their newly created gallery space.

Bennington faculty member Mary Lum has been awarded a 2010 Guggenheim Fellowship to support her ongoing work in the visual arts.

Faculty member Mary Lum received high praise in recent issues of Art in America and Artforum for her solo exhibition Edge Conditions, which was on display at Frederieke Taylor gallery in New York earlier this year.
