Large gift to Art for Access will enhance teaching and support scholarships.

Bennington College announced that it has received a major gift of art from renowned television and film writer and producer Norman Lear to benefit its Art for Access program.

Art for Access, Bennington College’s innovative fundraising program that enhances the College’s art holdings for teaching and enrichment while generating scholarship support  through the sale of art, raised nearly $300,000 for student scholarships in Spring 2021.

Bennington College has received a gift of some 500 works of art to benefit Art for Access, an innovative fundraising program launched in 2018.

Bennington College announced that it has received gifts of 122 works of art in the past year to benefit Art for Access, an innovative new program launched last year to support scholarships and provide educational opportunities for students by inviting new donations of art to the College. Art for Access celebrates the College’s pioneering legacy in the visual arts while advancing its commitment to equity, diversity, and access.

The launch of Bennington College’s new Art for Access initiative has yielded more than $3.1 million to establish the College’s inaugural Art for Access scholarship fund, which will provide financial aid for talented students who otherwise would not be able to afford a Bennington education.

Bennington College is pleased to announce a new initiative, Art for Access, which provides a dynamic model for supporting scholarships by inviting new donations of art to the College, an institution with a long and celebrated reputation in the arts. Through this initiative, Bennington will seek gifts of works of art to be sold to benefit one of the College’s highest priorities: providing scholarships for talented students who otherwise would not be able to afford a Bennington education. Art for Access celebrates the College’s pioneering legacy in the visual arts while advancing its commitment to equity, diversity, and access.
