Peter Dinklage ’91 moved to New York City to launch his acting career after studying theatre at Bennington College. He received critical acclaim for his first film, Living in Oblivion, in 1995. In 2003 he starred in The Station Agent, which was a hit at the Sundance Film Festival and earned him nominations for Screen Actors Guild and Independent Spirit awards.

After television appearances on shows such as HBO’s Entourage, ABC’s Life As We Know It, and the critically acclaimed Threshold, he was cast in the HBO series Game of Thrones. For his portrayal of the witty pragmatist Tyrion Lannister, Dinklage has received two Emmy Awards for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series.

Dinklage has also kept active in the theatre, playing Richard III at the Public Theatre in New York City, and starring opposite Meryl Streep and Hope Davis in the inventive Charlie Kauffman play Hope Leaves the Theatre.
