OPEN TO THE BENNINGTON COMMUNITY & INVITED GUESTS | The Martha Graham Dance Company performs at Bennington College as part of the Company’s centennial celebration. 

The program, specifically curated for Bennington, will be introduced by Artistic Director, Janet Eilber, who will provide contextual remarks for each work. 

The performance includes: 

  • Lamentation (1930) 
  • Panorama (1935), performed by Bennington’s BA and BFA students 
  • Theme and Variations from Appalachian Spring (1944) 
  • An excerpt from En Masse (2026), choreographed by Hope Boykin 
  • Immediate Tragedy (1937)
  • We the People (2024), choreographed by Jamar Roberts 

This event is presented in collaboration with the Martha Graham Dance Company and the Dance and Music faculty at Bennington. It is supported by the Ford Foundation (with special thanks to former President Darren Walker), the Jerome A. and Estelle R. Newman Assistance Fund, and an anonymous donor.
