Preparing for the Annual Senior Art Show
Luca van der Velde '26, who has been covering community news for The Bennington Banner, highlighted the Bennington Senior Show, an annual opportunity for Bennington graduates studying Visual Art to showcase their work from May 19–30.

Reports van der Velde in The Bennington Banner:
"Bennington alumnus and painting/drawing faculty member J Blackwell described his admiration for the culmination of student work. To him, the show expresses prolonged investigations into the things that matter most to students, along with the questions that 'animate their work, animate their curiosity, even animate their anger.'
"Senior Aviva Feinburg '26 combined their interest in painting, film, animation, and anthropology into their final work. Aviva described this group of seniors as 'ambitious artists' with strong ideas and concepts about their work.
"Fellow senior Cyrus Vella '26 studies environmental science and visual art with a focus on ecology and sculpture. For much of his academic career, he has been drawn to the pond that sits at the bottom of the hill from the Jennings Mansion. The pond is man-made and functions as a catchment basin, thus lacks key components of a natural ecosystem. Cyrus’s project revolves around 'the pond as a site for biologically activated sculpture.' He maneuvered logs to mimic fallen trees in order to 'provide habitat for birds and feed microorganisms.' Cyrus has done this work in tandem with a creek-clearing project. His installation in Usdan features his tools and the boat that he repaired to accomplish this work."
