The Problem with Plastic
Judith Enck, CAPA senior fellow and president of Beyond Plastics, spoke with The Columbia Paper reporter Deborah Lans about her co-authored book, The Problem with Plastic.

"Recently, Judith Enck, co-author of The Problem with Plastic and founder and president of Beyond Plastics, sat for an interview in a packed room at The Spotty Dog Bookstore, 440 Warren Street. Beyond Plastics is a nationwide non-profit which has the immodest goal of eliminating plastic pollution everywhere. Ms. Enck grew up in Catskill and now lives in Renssalaer County. She is as down-to-earth as her credentials are stellar.
"Before founding Beyond Plastics, Ms. Enck served as the Regional Administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for Region 2, which includes New York, under President Obama. Before that, she served as Deputy Secretary for the Environment in the New York Governor’s Office, as a policy advisor to the New York State Attorney General and as Executive Director of Albany-based Environmental Advocates of New York. Ms. Enck is currently a professor at Bennington College where she teaches classes about plastic pollution, including some online that all of us can take."
