Sherman to Lecture on Darwin at Northshire Bookstore

In celebration of the 200th anniversary of Charles Darwin's birth, biology faculty member Elizabeth Sherman will lecture on Why Darwin Matters at the Northshire Bookstore in Manchester, Vermont on Friday, March 27, at 7 pm. This event is free and open to the public.

"Why should we care that roughly half of Americans don't accept evolution?" Sherman asks. "If people can deny evolution, so well supported by scientific evidence and so widely accepted by the professional scientific community, then they can deny any scientific findings they like."

Known for her extensive work in amphibian behavior, Sherman has been published in Herpetological ReviewJournal of Comparative PhysiologyAmerican ZoologistComparative Biochemistry and Physiology, and Journal of Thermal Biology.
