Field Work Term Spotlight: Jason de la Peña
Jason de la Peña '26 studies Literature at Bennington. For his summer 2025 Field Work Term, he interned at Green Writers Press.
How does your Field Work Term relate to your studies at Bennington?
I hope to work in publishing in the future, and this internship has given me the opportunity to get a lot of hands-on experience.
What does a typical day at your FWT site look like?
Most days, I read a few book submissions and give my thoughts on why we should or should not publish them. I've also been working on an interview with one of the authors, which has included reading her upcoming book, writing questions for her, recording and transcribing the interview, and submitting the interview to different publications to get it published.
What do you hope to do for your next Field Work Term?
I hope to do another internship in publishing, because this one has really solidified for me that I want to continue in the field.
