5 Hours at Bennington College

Want to know what a typical weekday evening looks like at Bennington College? The evening of September 16, 2025, was packed with interesting events that exemplify the diverse array of experiences and activities available to students and the community.

It kicked off with a Harvest Party at Purple Carrot Farm. Members of the Sustainable Agriculture class used produce from the farm to make an array of delicious dishes for attendees to try. Students made pizza for attendees in an outdoor wood-fired pizza oven. Meanwhile, other students braided fresh flowers into crowns and played music in the grass.

An exhibition, Overbody, by Sreshta Rit Premnath, opened at the Usdan Gallery. In this new series of sculptures and paintings, Premnath introduces the concept of the “overbody”—a coercive force that shapes and disciplines the body. Sculptures on view expand on Premnath’s ongoing use of “slumps”— figure-like forms that prop, push, and twist as they resist or succumb to forces that pull them down.

A quick visit to the Printmaking Studio revealed three printmaking student workers: Julian LaTourelle '28, Ella Prevatte '27, and Audrey Pena '27. They were eager to talk printmaking, including printmaking history, methods, and upcoming events. Stay tuned for T-Shirt Day!
