Jane Ray (Cohen) '84: The Bennington Drama Department of the '80s was a force to be reckoned with: Leroy, Janis, Tony, Danny, Ray, Patrick, and of course the inimitable Joel (Nicholas) Martin. Jane has fond memories of by turns being lavishly praised and thoroughly eviscerated by Joel in acting class, and this experience has made her what she is today—a martial arts instructor with a great love of acting as well as teaching, who does not hesitate to instill fear in her students if it will bring out their best work.
