Suberu Contributes to New Brookings Institution Book
Political science faculty member Rotimi Suberu authored a chapter in Corruption, Global Security, and World Order, a new book published this year by Brookings Institution Press.
Edited by Robert I. Rotberg, the book "explores the ties between corrupt practice and threats to global peace, corrupt practice and the suppression of human rights and development, corrupt practice and the maintenance of tyranny, and corruption in health and education," according to the Brookings Institution.
Suberu, who has written extensively about Nigerian politics, contributed a chapter on "The Travails of Nigeria's Anti-Corruption Crusade."
"Suberu explains how Nigeria's 'unprecedented' official campaign against corruption since 1999 has essentially failed, it's potential success being undermined time and again by acts of political commission or omission," writes Rotberg.
Author of Federalism and Ethic Conflict in Nigeria, Ethnic Minority Conflicts and Governance in Nigeria, and Public Policies and National Unity in Nigeria, Suberu has written a number of articles on Nigerian politics in both Nigerian and international journals.
