Biography
Malanga's practice centers on self-investigation, exploring identity, personal history, and the ways perception shapes experience. He frequently portrays himself as a recurring character situated in imagined past or future environments — a scavenger or explorer navigating time as a way of examining personal and collective questions. Through narrative, material experimentation, and performance, his work reflects on selfhood, society, politics, and the search for individual meaning and contribution.
Malanga joined Bennington as a Technical Instructor in Sculpture in Fall 2025.
