Application Authenticity

At Bennington College, authenticity, integrity, and intellectual honesty are central to our admissions process, which reflects the values of our community. We expect our applicants to submit original applications and materials that are truthful, accurate, and directly representative of the applicant’s own experiences. In turn, we take great care to thoughtfully review each individual application.

Students are responsible for ensuring that all application components are authentic and accurately representative of their achievements, abilities, and experiences. Application materials should be free from writing or other outputs created through the use of generative artificial intelligence (AI), except where explicitly permitted by the College and disclosed by the student. While applicants may receive guidance from family, counselors, teachers, or mentors, all submitted application materials should be their own.

If, at any time before or after admission, Bennington College determines that an applicant or current student has knowingly submitted fraudulent, falsified, fabricated, inaccurate, or misleading information, the student's application, offer of admission, and/or enrollment may be revoked.
