Metropolitan Museum of Art Kline Completes Project at Met

This fall, photographer and faculty member Jonathan Kline completed a three-year photographic history project with the Photographic Conservation Department at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. The project, funded by the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation, involved recreating five different variants on the paper negative process, a method used by French and British photographers in the 1840s and ’50s and one that, with the advent of the film negative, few photographers are skilled in using today.

On September 19, 2008, Bennington College faculty member Mac Maharaj received the prestigious Global Award for Outstanding Contribution to Human Rights from Priyadashni Academy in Mumbai, India.

In July 2008, The Society for the Psychological Study of Social Issues (SPSSI) conferred Bennington College faculty member Ronald L. Cohen the 2007 Undergraduate Teaching Award. SPSSI, dedicated to providing social and behavioral scientists opportunities to apply their knowledge to the critical problems of today's world, grants two outstanding teaching awards annually.
