Judith Butler '78, one of the leading academics in the United States in the areas of philosophy and gender studies, was burned in effigy by bigoted far-right Christian protesters outside of a conference she helped organize in Brazil.

As part of a story on KVNF radio about female journalists, hosts and producers who have inspired members of the station’s news team, production assistant Taya Jae ’16 interviewed award-winning journalist and fellow Bennington alumni Phoebe Judge ’05.

After graduating from Bennington, Ben Hall ’04—this year’s recipient of the Elizabeth Coleman Visionary Leadership Award—says he moved back to his home city of Detroit to live cheaply and “try every single thing that he wanted to do.” Some 13 years later—now a chef, musician, artist, and activist—his to-do list involves reversing children’s food insecurity and empowering minimum wage employees in the food service industry.

Exeunt Magazine interviewed the performance ensemble Boom Bat Gesture, which was founded by two Bennington graduates, about everything from "failure, [to] DIY theatre, and Spiderman."
