Staff Work Hours

SEIU Union Staff Work Hours

Details regarding work hours for staff working in positions covered by a collective bargaining agreement can be found within the agreement, a copy of which can be obtained through Human Resources. Individual work schedules are determined by an employee’s supervisor.

Staff Administrative Work Hours

The College alters the general administrative work hours at certain times during the year. Please note that offices may find it necessary to alter the workday hours for certain staff members to meet specific office needs.

In accordance with the current bargaining agreement, the dates listed above will be observed as holidays. Per Article 12, all employees whose work has to be performed on a holiday will have the choice of receiving either compensatory time off of one and one-half days for each holiday worked or will be paid at the rate of one and one-half times their regular pay in addition to the regular day’s pay. To receive holiday pay, an employee must work the day before and the day after the holiday or the employee’s regular schedule.

Floating Holidays are granted at the beginning of each fiscal year. The employee may elect to use the floating holiday anytime throughout the fiscal year, with supervisor approval.

*In order to provide services to students, certain staff members will be required to work on these dates; staff members will be individually notified of staffing needs. An employee who is required to work on a holiday will receive either compensation for hours worked or an alternate day off, depending on the employee’s position classification.
