If you have any questions or need additional information please call 802-440-4411 or email Cameron Childs, cameronchilds@bennington.edu, Coordinator of the BFA Dance Lab. Registration is required, and it is the responsibility of the applicant to schedule an audition.

  • It's heavily recommended that you fully apply through the Common App or Apply Coalition to be considered for the program.
  • Students are encouraged to attend an in-person audition whenever possible.
  • Please bring a headshot and resume with you. The headshot can be a “selfie” and can be printed or emailed to cameronchilds@bennington.edu.
  • You will participate in a workshop with faculty and current students. The workshops include ballet, improvisation, and contemporary forms including hip-hop.
  • Prepare a solo, which should be no longer than 2 minutes in length. Plan to share the music from a phone or other playback device. This solo can be self-choreographed or set material.
  • Wear comfortable attire. Sneakers should be worn for hip hop and ballet shoes are optional.

Can’t make it to an in-person audition? Students may submit audition materials online through their personal Bennington applicant status page once the application is submitted. Guidelines for these submissions are found on the application.
