Course System Home Terms Fall 2017 Multi-Party and Full Track Diplomacy

Course Description

Summary

The world of diplomacy is traditionally divided into three tracks consisting of Track 1 (high-level political, military leaders, and official negotiators who discuss major agreements), Track 2 (academics, religious leaders, and managers who focus on relationships and problem solving often in new ways), and Track 3 (People to People diplomacy). Underutilized is a fourth track which goes by a number of names; multi, whole, or full track diplomacy. In a world of ever increasing complexity this fourth track needs to be utilized more often and more effectively. This class will examine full track diplomacy, as well as diplomacy in general in an ever changing world. Registration: Interested students should contact the instructor. Students will be informed of their place in the class on May 17.
