Course Description
Summary
Advanced studies in theory relating to performance.
Students must be enrolled in Bass with Bisio (MIN4417) simultaneously, no exceptions. This class is only for advanced students and by permission of instructor.
Learning Outcomes
- This class would be in addition to their individual instruction and would deal with the application of theory. It would include drills both on and off the instrument to insure the studied information is available in real time along with idiomatic considerations and construction of bass lines as well as solo ideas.
We will also take a look at the masters in recording and by transcription. Not only masters of the bass in jazz but also study other instrumentalist to discover how it is applicable.
