Graduate Teaching Assistantship in Dance
Course Description
Summary
Those who hold a Graduate Teaching Assistantship in Dance are integrated into the Dance Program as assistants to faculty who are teaching dance courses. In consultation with their academic advisors and the dance faculty, these MFA candidates will develop an assistantship schedule of approximately ten hours weekly and will work with faculty in determining their roles. They will have some face time with students enrolled in the courses, under faculty supervision. Outside of listed class times, the Teaching Assistants will meet with the designated faculty to discuss their work. Furthermore, they will attend and play an active role in the weekly Dance Program meetings and weekly Dance Workshop sessions, and will assist with program events, dance concert technical rehearsals and performances.
