Course Description

Summary

COVID19 paralyzed much of the United States, and it will permanently alter the way we think and behave. But pandemics are not new.  This course starts by examining the history of pandemics and how they have influenced human history and culture. Using Vermont as a model we will then focus on how the COVID19 pandemic has impacted this state. We will look at the origin of the disease, how it traveled here, the decision points that were made by health and policy officials, as well as, spend time assessing these decisions. Finally, we will work to develop policies that might be needed in order to handle future pandemics. We will hear from scientists, policy makers, and healthcare officials.
