Course Description

Summary

Water is the source of life. Scientists search for water in the universe to discover if there is life out there. Civilizations of the ancient world flourished near water. Over the centuries, we have established relationships with water other than merely using it to survive. How has our relationship with water been changing, and how has this affected water? What role do environmental policies play in shaping our relationship with water? This course will explore how our relationship with water is depicted and analyzed in documentaries and films from different parts of the world. Students will write a paper on one or some of the works covered in this class and create a final project documenting their relationship to water.
